Linux becomes even more variegated with. The Qt-GTK integration even for GTK2
was not
finished yet. And now all the efforts are scrapped and all should be started
anew.

It's not a matter of GTK3 but rather due to the fact that noone
has created a unified GTK2/3 theme for openSUSE. Even Adwaita is
inconsistent since its GTK2 variant is simply Clearlooks.
Ever checked out #GNOME-Shell on Deviantart?
They have a openSUSE Sonar theme for both GTK2 and GTK3...
