I have done some testing with and without pulseaudio enabled. Results are the same, no audio. Some apps complain that they can't connect to socket if pulseaudio is disabled.
Are you referring to the KDE system sound or the whole sound system? The former is rather a Phonon / KDE issue while the latter is more about PA and sound driver. Patrick's question looks like the former one, and that's why I asked it. IOW, do you get any sound on 11.2? Since we have many layers, the old good principle, divide and conquer, is required...
