It doesn't make much sense to have different defaults for such settings, they come from upstream.
Lubos,
Are you saying that there is only "1" animation duration setting? And, when I set it to 250 in Cover and then switch to Flip and set it to 280 it is effecting the same animation duration variable? So when I set it in Flip it is changing the value for Cover as well?
No, he's saying it doesn't make sense for openSUSE to have different default settings for effects, than upstream KDE.
Btw., you realize that the experience may vary a bit with different hardware and drivers etc., so making the settings perfect for you, doesn't necessarily make it perfect for everyone else - or for you, once you install on a different machine.
Yes, I know it is hardware and driver dependent. But on my laptop, I have fairly middle of the road hardware ATI RS690M [X1200] and the effects were running way too *fast* with the default settings. If I was running on an old AMDK6-2, then the defaults would have worked... I'll put it on the kde list. -- David C. Rankin, J.D.,P.E.
