Yes,

        I know it is hardware and driver dependent. But on my laptop, I have 
fairly 
middle of the road hardware ATI RS690M [X1200] and the effects were running 
way too *fast* with the default settings.

        If I was running on an old AMDK6-2, then the defaults would have 
worked... 
I'll put it on the kde list.
