Still no resolution to this bug, seems to be a ghostscript problem as I
always get a pstoraster failure. Currently using hlip and hplip-hpijs
3.9.4b-5.1 from
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/rwooninck:/updates/openSUSE_Factory/
I get the same problem with the Lexmark driver and a Lexmark z600 printer.

Running kubuntu 9.04 x86_64 under VirtualBox, the printer works.
I am suprised no one else is seeing printer problems.
