The autoconfig has *never* worked for me, Just find the close servers you like and put them in /etc/ntp.conf manually:
## Outside source of synchronized time ## ## server xx.xx.xx.xx # IP address of server server ntppub.tamu.edu server 129.119.80.126 server 207.55.146.19 ##
YaST has always worked for me but I thought I'd add that using servers in the NTP Pool Project[0] is probably a good idea, rather than explicitly specifying servers (or IPs, bleh! :) i.e. if you're in Australia au.pool.ntp.org gives you a round-robin of 5 servers across the country, see the link[0] to find ones for your continent/country.
