[opensuse-factory] Another bug.
I know this has been discussed before, but at that time, I didn't notice the bug. On this laptop, 11.1RC won't syn. with a NTP server and keep the correct time. Has this been fixed yet? If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered." The autoconfig has *never* worked for me, Just find the close servers you like and put them in /etc/ntp.conf manually: ## Outside source of synchronized time ## ## server xx.xx.xx.xx # IP address of server server ntppub.tamu.edu server 129.119.80.126 server 207.55.146.19 ## -- David C. YaST has always worked for me but I thought I'd add that using servers in the NTP Pool Project[0] is probably a good idea, rather than explicitly specifying servers (or IPs, bleh! :) i.e. if you're in Australia au.pool.ntp.org gives you a round-robin of 5 servers across the country, see the link[0] to find ones for your continent/country. Ok.....thanks.
While the autoconfig has *always* worked for me ( :&) ), I *usually* just carry over my previous: from /etc/ntp.conf: server 0.us.pool.ntp.org server 1.us.pool.ntp.org server 2.us.pool.ntp.org server 3.us.pool.ntp.org Note: for US locations, but a search of http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/ will supply localized pool addresses. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-factory+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-factory+help@opensuse.org
