It was saw like an ESD replacement for Gnome, but that had nothing to
aport to KDE. After all, a sound server is only an extra layer that
gives us mixing... and latency. And since we already have mixing
though dmix a sound server doesn't makes any sense, true?
Well, we were wrong. I would like to reopen the PulseAudio in KDE
debate. But this time everybody must read this before:

Looks like PulseAudio doesn't give us only network transparency. It
give us a better sound system, energy saving... and no extra latency.

yes, the glitc-free branch (still not released) should be a much better
thing to consider for KDE. Also, we've had to patch several packages
because of the fact that only GNOME uses PulseAudio, so having the whole
distro use it should solve in a better way those problems.

I started packaging this glitch-free branch in
home:rodrigomoya:pulseaudio . I'll try to finish the packages ASAP so
that people can start testing things for 11.1
