I agree with you. My sound disappeared with RC1. Works on 10.3 (Dual boot with 
11.0RC1). Also works from Amarok but not from kmail, konquorer, etc. I have 
KDE3.5.9 installed. I'm send this from 10.3 and sound works fine.
