Hi,
Speaking from experience a couple of years ago, and please excuse me
contributing to a vaguely off-topic thread:

As someone else stated, use the "Control Panel", i.e. the physical buttons
on the printer itself, to set up the correct IP address.

Excuse the obvious question, but have you tried connecting the printer
directly to a PC using a cross-over cable?

That's a very good point, check the subnet mask of the printer compared to
the boxes you're trying to ping it from and ensure they match.
