thanks Lewis. In this case, dhcp client removal wouldn't be an option though
when it comes to the laptop setups.
regarding the GM version.... I should test that with a new setup.
Thwe first post: I am not using networkmanager. e.g. I select traditional ifup.
network manager seldom is useful for me. I rather become root and di a lease
request if needed. Networkmanager just doesn't work for me. (I don't carry
around my gear a lot that may change the network setup)
If with ifup/down, if you set use STATIC in ifcfg-eth* file, it shouldn't use
DHCP, or it should be a bug.
yast -- use traditional ifup/down setup with static IP addresses et al setup.
Still network manager/dhcpcd tries to get a leased address. So it's a bug.
However, as said -- Don't know if GM has fixed it.
