If you want to disable C-states you can boot with: Thanks! This hack saves me hours in a day. Although the fans are loud as one can expect. I wish there would be a "sensitivity" parameter for entering out of C0, which would easily fix this problem.
If you still have 11.2 installed, I don't have it installed. I only have the openSUSE 11.4-64bit (default repos).
If in your case frequency is low by default your laptop is very slow Not a laptop in my case. A desktop computer.
You can also install cpupower package from this repo: Yast complains: "cpufrequtils-bench-008-5.1.x86_64 requires libcpufreq.so.0()(64bit), but this requirement cannot be provided"
