--- Comment #3 from Hartmut Meyer 2009-11-15 13:23:46 UTC ---
Reopening this since the description does look very much like what I'm seeing
since I first attempted to install 11.2 (final product).
I saw it already during the actual installation (which makes me think that this
is not KDE related): when I was changing some settings, a dialog box appeared
but I was not able to click it successful (change things, abort, proceed).
First time it happened I didn't realise that this blockage was only a mouse
problem, but on second installation attempt, I had the same thing again (at a
different part of the installation, but again in a pop-up box). This time - by
chance - I found out that I can navigate and control the dialog with keyboard
commands. After the dialog was closed, the mouse was acting normal again. Note
that the mouse was moving fine all the time, just the clicking had no effect.
In the installed system, I have this issue showing up every few minutes: mouse
stops responding to clicks and mouse wheel scrolling. Or rather: it seems like
the mouse focus is caught somewhere (no idea where) but not where I need it.
To recover I have to do one or more of the following:
° change desktops (keyboard shortcut still working) back and forth
° right click on free area of the desktop: if I get the normal context menu,
then all is fine again - however: sometimes I do not get the context menu
° right click in the kicker panel
System is running with proprietary NVidia driver but as mentioned before: the
problem already showed during the installation - so not related.
Have rebooted already several times. Problem is there every time.
