actually, the problem is that gwibbler doesn't look into webkit-1.0 subdir.
same bug: http://code.google.com/p/pywebkitgtk/issues/detail?id=38
python-webkitgtk (as well as the upstream package) doesn't provide a .pth file
for itself, and installs into webkit-1.0 which is not on the search path by
default.
three basic ways to fix this:
1. in python-webkitgtk - install webkit.pth that would enable this webkit-1.0
directory.
2. in python-webkitgtk - just symlink the webkit.so into either site-packages
directly, or gtk-2.0, both of which are already made accessible.
(i don't see why it gets its own directory anyway.)
3. in gwibbler - apply the sys.path.insert as suggested in the referenced
bugreport. downside is that other python-webkitgtk apps might get bitten by
this too - but OTOH, there are none ;) and as the bug is in upstream, such apps
might have their own workarounds already
or 4. wait until upstream fixes it
my personal preference goes with (2). what do you guys think?
