I had a look in building it for packman myself to keep ldap-account-manager working. But I found out, that it is usually build as a subpackage of php5 itself, and it seems to be difficult to build it standalone.
I can place it in the server:php:extensions repository later
Packman usually doesn't build on top of BS repositories. But at least users of ldap-account-manager can avoid errors from the updater.
Is there a specific reason for dropping it?
Yes, libmhash is no longer mantained in upstream as well the PHP extension has been deprecated no longer mantained, replacement is php5-hash.
In the context of openSUSE we have to give security support for two years and in the case of SLE, for 5 or more years, as you can possible understand, we cannot ship something that we know will not be "supportable" in the foreasable future, that will just cause too much pain.
I will contact the developer of ldap-account-manager and give him the hint he should switch to the hash module.
