https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=358509 Summary: noisy sound on AMD Geode Sound (snd_cs5535audio) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: dmueller@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Hi, the sound card works fine most of the time, but some applications (like e.g. xine, mplayer *cough*) seem to choose a playback mode that is producing a terrible noise instead of sound. it is recognizeable that it plays something useful (e.g. the rythm of drums can be identified in the noise) but the rest is just rattle noise. it somehow sounds like it would play the pcm with wrong endianess (perhaps?). I've tried various sound output modes, but I can't seem to be able to find out which playback mode is faulty. is there some application I can use to debug to figure out which playback mode is broken? I can bring the hardware if wanted. I've tried 2.6.24 with the rest of 10.3 as well, no differences. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
