https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=345845 Summary: smpppd always uses default IP-address pair which causes trouble with some handys Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dieter.jurzitza@t-online.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- When using smpppd to connect to a bluetooth-modem handy (here: Nokia E50) you always end up with: LCP: connection ended by peer prior to getting a usuable connection. The reason for this is buried within smpppd; it always specifies an local:remote IP pair what seems inacceptable for this mode of operation. Verification: put the smpppd-call commands into a script and remove the 192.168.99.1:192.168.99.99 pair and things will work. Fix: allow an option to enable / disable setting the default IP. See patch attached to this bug-report. By the way: the patch is against smpppd from openSUSE 10.3 distribution. I replaced the patchnames within the spec file with %{name}-%{version}-XXX for consistency purposes. This is more or less a matter of taste. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
