--- Comment #9 from Camaleon -- 2007-11-27 15:32:56 MST ---
I'm back with the results:
1) Followed the provided steps ('rcnetwork stop', enter yast and configure
bonding following the steps as described in comment #1 - 'B. Yast setting up
[steps 1-11]') I get the same behaviour:
- Yast freezes at 66% while writing data (see attached log, network interfaces
setup starts at 2007-11-27 21:51:55)
- dmesg shows me the same information:
kernel: bonding:bond0:interface eth0 is already enslaved
ifup:could not enslave eth0
ifup: removing bonding interface bond0
bonding: bond0: Warning: the permanent HWaddr of eth0 -
mac:address:of:the:card - is still in use by bond0. Set the HWaddr of eth0
to a different address to avoid conflicts.
bond0: duplicate address detected!
unregister_netdevice: waiting for bond0 to become free: usage count = -1
unregister_netdevice: waiting for bond0 to become free: usage count = -1
unregister_netdevice: waiting for bond0 to become free: usage count = -1
unregister_netdevice: waiting for bond0 to become free: usage count = -1
- And the system has to be 'hard reset' in order to restart
I know testing is required, but the main issue is that such testing becomes in
a corruption of the filesystem (reiserfs) every time I make a hard reset :-(
I cannot avoid this because system becomes unstable (tried killing processes
'kill -9 id' with not avail) so would be nice a trick to by-pass this and keep
a clean filesystem :-).
