https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222993 ------- Comment #29 from funtasyspace@yahoo.com 2007-03-31 09:09 MST ------- I just tested with the new fglrx release 8.35.5 and found out that framebuffer + Xserver(fglrx) is working at least in some 1280x1024 modes. The following framebuffer modes seem to work for me (hwinfo --framebuffer): Mode 0x031a: 1280x1024 (+2560), 16 bits Mode 0x031b: 1280x1024 (+5120), 32 bits I didn't test all possible modes, but the other 1280x1024 modes (0x0363 to 0x0366) and 1400x1050 modes (0x0343 to 0x0346) don't work together with fglrx. I also don't know if vga=0x031a just works since the latest (8.35.5) fglrx driver or was working with previous fglrx versions, too. I didn't try these two modes with previous fglrx versions. I only tested the highest possible resolutions (1400x1050) with previous fglrx versions, realized they don't work together with fglrx and disabled framebuffer mode. The native resolution of my TFT display is 1680x1050, so using a framebuffer mode of 1280x1024 makes the text look a bit blurry, but it's much better then no framebuffer mode at all. Tested with Lenovo Thinkpad T60p, ATI FireGL V5250 at 1280x1024 (vga=0x031a) on openSUSE 10.2 (x86_64) and latest Xorg 7.2 packages from http://repos.opensuse.org/xorg72/openSUSE_10.2/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
