https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=224102 Summary: i810 crashes when playing video after resuming from s2ram Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: johnelliottmartin@gmail.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com I have found out how to get my computer to crash consistently after resuming from s2ram and I was hoping that someone might be able to help resolve this issue once and for all. Here's the machine type: s2ram -i This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "AVERATEC" sys_product = "E1200" sys_version = "To Be Filled By O.E.M." bios_version = "080010 " It's really an Averatec 3360-EG1, I don't know what the E1200 is all about. The graphics card is: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) The story is I can run s2ram -f and it suspends and resumes just fine, however as soon as I play a video after resuming, the X server crashes and goes into an infinite loop trying to fire back up again. So I play a video, it immediately crashes X, X restarts, then crashes as soon as a pointer appears on the screen. If I press the power button on the computer as quickly as I can (like it's a nintendo controller) during these constant restarts I can get the OS to shut down normally, otherwise I have to do the 4 second power button routine. Here's the details of one video I'm running that crashes X every time: Stick figure fight.avi: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 300 x 150, ~24 fps, video: Microsoft MPEG-4 v2, audio: uncompressed PCM (mono, 5000 Hz) And I'm trying to play the video's in kaffeine, which means xine, and it's using the auto video driver, I'm assuming xv, but I would have to be told how to find out what it's using for sure.
