https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=222708 ------- Comment #3 from pmladek@novell.com 2006-11-20 15:47 MST ------- The problem is that we decided to distribute the 32-bit OOo on the biarch DVD to save the disk space. OOo is very ugly. It starts java/gij to read some information about the JRE. Then it loads the JRE library (libgcj/libjvm), starts its own virtual machine, ... The 32-bit OOo needs to start the 32-bit gij to find the right /usr/lib/libgcj. Note that 32-bit OOo cannot dlopen the 64-bit library, ... Well, it would be possible to add a hack and translate the lib -> lib64. I only think that adding the 32bit package is much easier and more secure. I have just submitted a new package that searches for gij32 and gij32-4.1. So, it would be enough to create the package gcc41-gij-32bit that would include the two renamed files from the 32-bit package: /usr/bin/gij32-4.1 /usr/bin/grmiregistry32-4.1 I took inspiration from SL 10.1, package libgcj-32bit. It includes exactly these two files, ... It really works. I have tested it. I will have a package for testing tomorrow. I am sorry, I have to leave now to catch the last bus. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
