Summary: fetchmail setup completely broken in 10.2
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Alpha 4 plus
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Basesystem
AssignedTo: sbrabec@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: ro@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx
fetchmail was changed to run as non-root, which is nice, but now it does
not work anymore at all.
in the init-script, FETCHMAILHOME needs to be set, otherwise fetchmail
will try to write as user fetchmail into /root/.fetchids and one or
more other files.
The init-script tries to make fetchmail log into /var/log/fetchmail,
a file that does not exist and the user fetchmail can not create files
in /var/log -> that file should probably be %ghost and created in the
package's post-script.
The yast2 configuration for fetchmail does still create the file
/etc/fetchmailrc with owner "root", which will not work anymore either.
