https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207305 Summary: fetchmail setup completely broken in 10.2 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: sbrabec@novell.com ReportedBy: ro@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de fetchmail was changed to run as non-root, which is nice, but now it does not work anymore at all. in the init-script, FETCHMAILHOME needs to be set, otherwise fetchmail will try to write as user fetchmail into /root/.fetchids and one or more other files. The init-script tries to make fetchmail log into /var/log/fetchmail, a file that does not exist and the user fetchmail can not create files in /var/log -> that file should probably be %ghost and created in the package's post-script. The yast2 configuration for fetchmail does still create the file /etc/fetchmailrc with owner "root", which will not work anymore either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
