https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=207305 Summary: fetchmail setup completely broken in 10.2 Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: sbrabec@novell.com ReportedBy: ro@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de fetchmail was changed to run as non-root, which is nice, but now it does not work anymore at all. in the init-script, FETCHMAILHOME needs to be set, otherwise fetchmail will try to write as user fetchmail into /root/.fetchids and one or more other files. The init-script tries to make fetchmail log into /var/log/fetchmail, a file that does not exist and the user fetchmail can not create files in /var/log -> that file should probably be %ghost and created in the package's post-script. Please test. - Created /var/lib/fetchmail for FETCHMAILHOME - Created /var/log/fetchmail (should be also re-created with proper permissions by logrotate). Adding Cc: for the YaST2 module, which should be fixed by YaST2 module authors.
