Removing a pattern selects all 'contained' packages for removal.
What if a package is in more than one pattern?
What would you expect to happen ? I don't see the need for any special handling of this case. As patterns aren't 'installed' anymore (but derived from the installed packages), removal of a package - be it through another pattern or directly - might 'break' any other pattern. If a user wants to ensure a specific set of packages is installed, package locks should be used. Then removal of a locked package will result in an error.
