Hi,
* Robert Schweikert
When my laptop (Lenovo Carbon X1 with Intel Graphics, running i915 driver) sits with the screen saver on bad things happen, I get logged out. What I cannot figure out is if
- the X-server crashes for some reason - the session manager (lightdm) crashes - something else stupid happens.
when it happens, log in as root on the console and make copies of 1) /home/<user>/.xsession-errors-;* 2) /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old 3) /var/log/lightdm/lightdm.log 4) /var/log/messages before logging into a graphical session again. LightDM is unlikely to be involved, if the session manager xfce4-session crashes you'll see "Disconnected from session manager." in 1), X crashes should be logged to 2) and visible in 3), look also in 4) for crashes ("... segfault at ...").
