When I execute shared libs (*.so), I get seg faults. I've tried this on quite a few libs and it always happens. I'm running SuSE 7.3. This started happening after I reorganized my directories, putting /opt and /use on rieser filesystems. At the same time, I removed most of my /usr/local/* stuff, as I have collected, compiled and installed many programs and libraries over the years, and I was having trouble with getting old stuff running instead of newer versions. I'm assuming I screwed something up. Any ideas? -- Jim Sabatke Hire Me!! - See my resume at http://my.execpc.com/~jsabatke Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for you are crunchy and good with ketchup.

Have you tried using ldd to trace the problem. The only other thing I could think of was if you've compiled and installed a library in /usr/local/lib that was a minor version change from one in /usr/lib, then compiled other shared libraries against the one in /usr/local/lib, then deleted the library in /usr/local/lib, you might get segfaults. -- JDL Non enim propter gloriam, diuicias aut honores pugnamus set propter libertatem solummodo quam Nemo bonus nisi simul cum vita amittit.
