Has anyone gotten file sharing to work in 9.1,? specifically KMLDonkey? I am getting connection refused when trying to connect to server and have tried configuration defaults and permissions. -- Thom Nuzum

You need to have an mldonkey "server" running for Kmldonkey to connect to. Kmldonkey is not the actual program to download stuff, mldonkey is. Kmldonkey is only a frontend to mldonkey. Try looking at www.mldonkeyworld.com for the latest version of mldonkey

Probably because SuSE, in its infinite wisdom, didn't include the server software mldonkey (or mlnet as the executable is called). mldonkey is the real p2p software, with KMLDonkey just another frontend. http://guru.unixtech.be/rpm/packages/ has a version for SuSE 9.0 that you might be able to shoe-horn in. Alternatively guru may release a 9.1 version soon, especially if you ask him real nice like. -- Steve Boddy

I have MLdonkey now thanks. It seems to have its own gui, but still can't get either working. It just keeps flashing connected/not connected. I suppose I must disable any firewall first. There might be something else.

Thanks. I disabled the firewall for now to take it out of the equation. Here is the configuration info for anyone who wants file sharing peer to peer with mldonkey. It is real cool. Interface allows you to use soulseek and many others. The 9.0 version for SuSE works in 9.1 also. http://mldonkey.berlios.de/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=2 On Saturday 26 June 2004 22:42, C Hamel wrote:
