[opensuse] LibreOffice lost recent files capability after a crash.
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Hi, I had recently a system crash when trying to open a file in LibreOffice (from inside 'mc'). It stuck without opening the file. I could not open new terminals with "alt-f2", "top" didn't show any busy task, and the command "ps afxu | less -S" failed to finish and display (even in text mode). Log out from graphical mode also stuck, I had to kill the session with ctrl-alt-backspace, twice; finally reboot also failed. I had to hit the power button hard. It is not the first time this happens. On restart, LibreOffice did not display recently opened files. I thought ok, they were lost. But after editing several files, and closing and restarting it a few times, still there are no files displayed as recently used. Where should I look at? I'm using libreoffice-calc-4.4.5.2-1.1.x86_64 in oS 13.1 - -- Cheers Carlos E. R. Was a bug at one time: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/950071 The history is located in /home/[user]/.config/libreoffice/4-suse/user/registrymodifications.xcu You might try saving that file under a different name and seeing if it will rebuild it. - -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEARECAAYFAlXmDFAACgkQv7M3G5+2DLIUtgCeLomy1nYZNsGeGygSEJujNijX 3ekAnjuCp/H2Lj7nbpWyY4hozsJzpCj0 =q1p/ -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Then it fails to start :-( The application can not be started user installation could not be completed. And exit code 77 on the terminal. I'll try reading that bug report. - -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. You might have to nuke the entire user directory. This has been a looooong running bug with many many duplicates. The problems were supposedly all cleared up years ago. - -- After all is said and done, more is said than done. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2 iEYEARECAAYFAlXmENkACgkQv7M3G5+2DLJW0gCgi0bXsfXWdJf6JF44p9aZukOp SRAAoIgLjsp1xtrhJOLZnmMJ1EUdAEem =p6ch -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

It seems to refer to version 3.5., but I have 4.4.5...

LO does NOT use the xdg standard: ~/.local/share/recently-used.xbel No, it uses its own file, for LO from (open)SUSE: ~/.config/libreoffice/4-suse/user/registrymodifications.xcu: Check the state of this file, or rename it and start again, you will have to re-do most of your personal settings, if you do. It is a XML file, you can read it with the pager of your choice. - Yamaban. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
