Dear Stephen,
There is a dos2unix (and unix2dos) utility in Redhat - you may be able
to download the RPMs from the Redhat site and install them on SuSE.
Otherwise, you can always use the "tr" command to remove DOS-style
carriage returns, as follows:
tr -d '\r' < dosfilename > unixfilename

I have a need to remove the line feed from a dos text file so that I can use it in Linux. According to the SuSE knowledge database the appropriate command is dos2unix filename. Unfortunately the OS tells me 'command not found'
What am I missing? Thanks in advance
