I am wondering if that nice little script that grabs fonts from MS is included in 7.3 and in which package if so ?
Thanks /Dee
Hi Dee, It' s not in the distro. You need to dl it from SuSE, do it like this: visit http://sdb.suse.de and search for AA (anti-aliasing). There is an article about how to install and run the fetchmsttfonts script. Well, it's this one: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/chofman_ttf_72.html When running it, you will have to hit the 'q' button once to exit from the longish M$ lisensing stuff Cheers ... This article is awful. The grammar alone would be bad enough, but this article is also technically incorrect, at least in this spot: "1.Please make sure that your graphics adapter supports rendering of TrueType fonts. Enter the following command: xdpyinfo |grep RENDER The next line should display: RENDER If this is not the case please make sure that you have installed XFree86 version 4.0.3." This is not correct. Your X server module does not have to support the Render extension just to display TrueType fonts. It *does* need Render to do anti-aliasing, which is not strictly for fonts, either. -- -=|JP|=- Need a good geek? I'm unemployed! I'll agree that the grammar isn't perfect. I just had a look at it and as you are right, I'm changing it.
"1.Please make sure that your graphics adapter supports rendering of TrueType fonts. Enter the following command:

That paragraph says 'rendering', which *is* correct, although I'll concede that it's a bit misleading. Philipp -- If builders would build houses like programmers build their software, the first woodpecker to come along would mean the end of all civilisation.
