Add a ifcfg file in /etc/sysconfig/network. You can use Yast2 or a text editor. For example, ifcfg-lo:1 contains: # Loopback (lo:1) configuration IPADDR=192.168.13.99 NETMASK=255.255.255.0 NETWORK=192.168.13.0 BROADCAST=192.168.13.255 STARTMODE=onboot HTH, Jeffrey

Have also a look at /etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg.template, and search for 'Multiple addresses'. In SuSE Linux 9.1, you can also use YaST: YaST -> Network devices Pick a card, choose 'Edit'. Click 'Advanced' -> 'Virtual Aliases' Cheers, Leen
Strange....
I don't have 'Virtual Aliases' listed...
Thanks :-)

Leen,
Actually, the default (off-the-cd) package does not
have this support. That is the reason why the
feature didn't appear as it was re-added in the
version that is installed after running a yast
update.
As soon as I patched the server, the setting appeared.
Thanks :-)

Is the package 'yast2-network' installed?
