Wow, I don't like any of those. What's wrong with openSLE ? SLE is the common prefix for SLES, SLED, SLERT, and SLEPOS. It stands for "SUSE Linux Enterprise". (... Server, ... Desktop, ... Real-Time, ... Point of Sale) openSUSE Linux Enterprise ____ (where the blank is whatever you want to use it for) shortens nicely to openSLE. -- Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,= ,-_-. =. bss@iguanasuicide.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-' http://iguanasuicide.net/ \_/

Orignally, I wanted openSLE or openSLES. The problem comes with
Trademarks. I think the naming of CentOS reflects the issues with
choosing something. I want to avoid problems that could/would appear if
we used the name. Emails I have had from various places have shown that
we need a new name for the initiative. Hence this naming. I is naming of
the group and or product. I would really love something that indirectly
references SUSE. We want to have the same quality as SUSE and Novell with
Netware and NDS.

:P I'd like to see proof there's a trademark on "SLE". How about PfennigOS? >:) -- Boyd Stephen Smith Jr. ,= ,-_-. =. bss@iguanasuicide.net ((_/)o o(\_)) ICQ: 514984 YM/AIM: DaTwinkDaddy `-'(. .)`-' http://iguanasuicide.net/ \_/

Also I would like to avoid confussion. I still remember all the problems
with SUSE Linux and SuSE Enterpise Linux. I may have the names wrong in
my memory. I just know that I had people often not buy the correct one.
There always was a lot of confussion between the two. The name may have
had Professional in it. I really want people getting what they want
because it is a clear difference.

And you prefer purple as the distro's colour, do you? BTW, why should it be mean, and to whom? To the user?

NO! IT IS IN FRANCONIA! Never tell someone in Nuremberg that he is a bavarian! Unfortunately, Nuremberg belongs to the state of Germany called "Bavaria", and that causes much misunderstanding ;-) I'd never bringg together Black Forest and Nuremberg, anyway. ;-) Regards Werner -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Actually, I prefer the SUSE Blue that has been used.

No, just a suggested name.

Thanks, I am glad you point it out. Although right now this is just a
list of the names. I love the Black Forest.
