I just installed SuSe 9.0 with an HP G55 officejet and a Xerox Workcenter 480CX printers. The HP is USB and the Xerox is on the parrell interface. The Xerox works fine but the HP does not print. When I go to the printer status it says ready and accepting jobs. When I send a test job it shows in the que but never actually prints. The drivers all appear to have been installed during the initial installation. When I use the printer from Windows it works. I do have a failed scanner function on the printer but it does not hurt the print function under windows. Could this be the problem under Linux? Anything else to look at!

Make sure you're pointing to the correct device. I find Linux occasionally gets confused about the USB device number.

You need to double check which usb port was assigned to the printer. I had a simular problem and had to select a different port than what I thought was used. Ken
