There is no .bash_profile file to edit. How can I also add a new path for root. Thank you for your help. Do not touch /etc/profile, your changes will be lost during a system upgrade. For local changes use /etc/profile.local. Also if you modify the PATH variable in the /etc/profile or /etc/profile.local- your changes will be available to all users. Is this what you want? Charles
