Hi, I installed SuSe 10.0 but openoffice 2.0 bundled with suse 10.0 won't print at all. Other programs just print very well. Is this bug of SuSe 10.0 ? Please help. Thank you

You need to setup your printer for OpenOffice using spadmin. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2
I already did that. With spadmin, I see the printer. But still can't print. Patrick Shanahan wrote:

Well, tell us what you have done, what you see, what kind of printer. My crystal ball is broken. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2
I installed suse 10.0 (fresh install) then make some writing with OO writer 2.0. The first print was ok. Then I continued writing. After that OO won't print at all. I restarted my suse box and tried to print. The printer still won't print any character at all. I start Kwrite and make some text, then print it. Now, the printer works just fine. Back to openoffice 2.0, and still it can't print. Somewhat wrong with OO 2.0 setting ? Why the first print ok, but the later and so on failed ? Patrick Shanahan wrote:

You did something else too, but ??
I restarted my suse box and tried to print.
The only time linux needs to be "rebooted" is when changing the kernel or after a failure/lock-up (infrequent thou they are).

Must be a problem with OpenOffice...

Sounds like it but you still haven't told us what the 'setting' is/are.
Why the first print ok, but the later and so on failed ?
From the information you have provided, I'd have a better idea of the winning number in next week's lottery.
do from the command line: lpstat -a and provide ALL the output then do from the command line: lpq -al and provide ALL the output then start spadmin and do a screen capture of the spadmin window and provide an address where we can see it or email it direct to me. Be sure to crop the jpg to just the relevant area and save at 30% quality level. We don't want a 15MB file :^). I still would guess that you haven't configured your printer via spadmin or that you changed spadmin improperly, but you haven't given much information. It works, now it doesn't..... -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2

You need to setup your printer for OpenOffice using spadmin.
Or use the OO "Printer Adminsitration", which is somewhere off the SUSE button.
