been trying to compile some programs from source and keep getting error messages from ./configure about wrong versions or mis-placed dependent programs, for instance when trying to build gpilot (no SuSE rpm), i get failed gtk-config, when i look at /usr/gtk-config it appears to point correctly to the installed libraries and reports the correct version that gpilot needs, another program that fails is esound-0.2.8 (latest version), which fails with audiofile-config supposedly not reporting correct location of libraries or wrong version. esound needs >=0.1.5 version of audiofile and rpm -qf /usr/audiofile-config reports version is 0.1.9-136 (from stock SuSE 7.0 install) anyone else run into these /usr/*-config problems? thanks, -don -- proud Linux user since kernel 1.1.54 icq#42235604
