Is there any /good/ security mailing list(s)? [can security ever be OT?]
Howdy, I've been paying more and more attention to security lately, and I'm absolutely blown away by the continual flood of "incoming' information: new expoits, new virii, new bugs in software, new patches for bug new and old...... it's gotten to the point where I really don't have time to sift through report after report on all the good web sites. So I'm wondering, does anyone know of a security mailing list for people like Sys Admins? I'm not looking for a help or discussion list (though that would be nice too), rather I'm looking for a list that it for the dissemination of information of the type described about new virii found, patches/updates, newly discovered vulnerabilities, advisories... If you're serious about security run OpenBSD on your servers. And to keep aware of things check the lists at: http://lists.insecure.org/ And please wrap lines at a reasonable number of characters. Greg http://www.2fortheroad.net

There is a suse-security mailing list which is pretty good. All (or some at least) of the SuSE security people hang out there as well as others involved in general computer security. You sign up the same way as the other SuSE lists... -- Jeremy [jeremy@wellsgaming.com]
