[opensuse] Turning Many JPEGs into 1 Multi-Page PDF ?
Hi! Anyone have an idea how automatically turn a bunch of JPEGs (several hundreds literally) into single multi-page PDF (each JPEG must become 1 page)? Manually this is too tremendously boring task. Thanks in advance for any suggestion(s). -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

ImageMagick can do some kinds of raster image file -> PDF conversions, and it's scriptable and designed for bulk conversions, so while I can't say for sure what you want is possible, it's worth checking out. You may want to search the Web for information. A Google search on "ImageMagick PDF Bulk Conversion" produces a few thousdand hits, e.g.

Even easier. Install pdftk and then convert jpegs to pdfs with imagmagick and combine into a single pdf file with pdftkt. Depending on the size of the jpegs, the .pdf could be quite large. From man pdftk: Join in1.pdf and in2.pdf into a new PDF, out1.pdf pdftk in1.pdf in2.pdf cat output out1.pdf or (using handles): pdftk A=in1.pdf B=in2.pdf cat A B output out1.pdf or (using wildcards): pdftk *.pdf cat output combined.pdf -- David C.
