OT+ONT Question about 2.4.15
Well..I'm back from the mid-west and resubscribed. Hope all the Americans had a good holiday and I wish just plain good will to the rest. So has anyone tried Huberts 2.4.15 or does it suffer from the filesystem corruption bug as well. :) Cheers, -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE
Ben;
Hubert applied Andrea's patch on Saturday. I am running this Kernel over
night to test ReiserFS I/O and the CPQFC F-CAL Driver on a loaded SMP system
with no issues yet.
Regards,
Jon

Does the .15 require it? -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE
I was running SLES with 2.4.7 and did not use that. Where is that package?

Jon

I've installed Mantel's 2.4.15 on my Thinkpad T21 on Friday (2.4.14 had problems with sound, or putting it straight, no sound). I downloaded this modutils package but did not install it and machine is doing great with modutils from 7.3 CDs. -Kastus

Humm, I did see a dmesg with a cosmetic error about modules.dep being older,
so I updated this package. I will have to see about it though, do not know
what updates were in this.

Jon

What your seeing is the result of not rerunning depmod -a so that everything is current. :) -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- Ben Rosenberg mailto:ben@whack.org -----=====-----=====-----=====-----=====----- "Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal" -AE

Righto, I was mucking with the modules, loaded Scyld's intel driver, and I
do always run depmod -a. I do not know what caused this to not make the
right changes. I have not looked into it too far.
