Dear All, I am trying to compile from source a LiVES source rpm on Suse8.2 and cannot get it to compile so far. The error message is : checking for pkg-config... (cached) /usr/bin/pkg-config ./configure: line 1386: /usr/bin/pkg-config: No such file or directory *** Your version of pkg-config is too old. You need version 0.9.0 or newer. *** See http://www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig configure: error: Library requirements (gtk+-2.0 >= 1.3.13) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.22339 (%build) Does anyone understand this and what I might need to do to get this to install? By the way has anyone used this? It is a linux video editor that sounds interesting. Thanks. Marcia

Assuming you have pkg-config installed, SuSE 8.2 has version 0.15.0, which is greater that 0.9.0 required... My guess is that program is buggy, or perhaps old :-? -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson
