I have no idea what happened but the device assignment name suddenly changed. Is there any way that i can change it back. I don't have gui installed. Yast doesn't have it. eth0 needs to be eth1 eth2-> eth0 eth1- eth2. thanks henry

I think you can not change it, the names depends on which interface the kernel sees first at boot time. You can use "PERSISTENT_NAME" instead (/etc/sysconfig/network/ifcfg-eth-id-*). - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFDh2P8tTMYHG2NR9URAo7sAJwK6rSyK4yN8iocWpbEDflNykwR8QCfcIsl 7xTOrhBcdkS1Xwf0bOGL9Zg= =O4F6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Known bug - although some people persist in calling it a feature so it will probably never get fixed. Here's my solution http://www.catherders.com/tikiwiki-1.9.1/tiki-read_article.php?articleId=36 but there are others. Check google. Mike- -- Mornings: Evolution in action.
