Hi I have a prob with sound om a Toshiba 2060CDS The Sound-chip is a Maestro 2E (ESS 1978). If I compile the Kernel with the sound-driver inkluded (Y) the computer halt while loading sound at boot-time. If I compile the Kernel with sound-driver as a Module, the KDE says No sound present. If i look at the boot-messages lot of messages of missing symbols are present on the loading of the Maestro module. But. If I (as root) types "depmod Maestro" and hit CTRL+ALT+<--- The sound works fine. Whats wrong ? Pär Högberg
