SuSE-8.0's handling of PCMCIA devices has been rebuked several times on the list. I am trying to use 3com 3c389 driver especailly. Is there a good guideline to make that thing work? I would appreciate it if someone give me a definitive pointer to a web page. I checked several. But it did not give an answer for me. BTW, I have a built in eth0 working perfectly in my Dell Inspiron 8200. I want to make an extra ethernet interface work. Q1, I am using custom compiled 2.4.20-pre8ac3. What should I choose? Q2, What should I choose for /etc/pcmcia Q3, What should I do inside /etc/modules.conf Q4, Yast2 tries eth-pcmcia-0 by default. I have never seen such a interface name before. Would it work with the custom-compiled kernel? Q5 Would the job be much easier with SuSE-8.1? Thanks a lot Regards, Hugh
