Hello, sorry for dumb question, I dwlded and burned SuSE eval 6.3 iso. Now I have a nice 6.3whatever.iso file worth a somewhat 600M. What are the steps for updating the .iso file? I tried with YaST, but with no luck. regards, Stefano -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Not a dumb question :)

I'm not sure what you mean by `update the .iso'. -- -=|JP|=- Jon Pennington | Atipa Linux Solutions -o) jpennington@atipa.com | http://www.atipa.com /\\ Kansas City, MO, USA | 816-241-2641 x121 _\_V 6D04 39E0 CAE9 9ADA 2CA3 2EBE 898A 6C37 CA1E A29C -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/

Once the iso has been burned you need to make sure your computer has boot from CDROM set in bios. Then drop the CDROM in the drive and reboot the machine. If the burn process worked the CDROM should boot and put you into either Yast or Yast to allow an install or upgrade. That should be it. The most important part of the process is making the CD and insuring that the burn software allows it to be made bootable. Sounds like you just put the entire iso file on CD. Its wrong way! You have to specify in your burning software that you are burning CD from special image file (.iso in this case). After correct burning process you get CD with files and directory tree.
