[opensuse] how to zypper search "RPM provide" to find TeXLive package files?
I wish we had a version of "texliveonfly" to automatically retrieve and install the right RPM package that provides any missing styles and packages for LaTeX. In the absence of that, I would like to know how I can search for those missing style and package files from the command line using zypper. In YaST I can set the option "RPM provides" and find, for example, that the RPM package "texlive-a0poster" provides the style file "a0size". I tried the zypper option "what-provides", but it does not seem to do what I was looking for. Any suggestion on how to search what the RPM provides with zypper? -- Carlos F Lange Gaúcho nas Pradarias http://goo.gl/fvVhr -- Recursive: Adj. BTW, there is a version of "texliveonfly" among the openSUSE packages,
but it is not working properly. Will submit bug report.

It turns out that we would need this "RPM provides" feature in zypper,
if we want to replace TexLive's own package manager TLMGR in
texliveonfly.
Here is another example of search that requires this feature. While
many of the TexLive packages have the name of Latex package in the
package name ("texlive-package"), it is not always the case. If I need
the style file "palatino.sty", and I search the package names for
"palatino", then I find "texlive-palatino" and
"texlive-palatino-fonts". But none of these RPMs provide the style
file palatino.sty.
Only searching with YaST2 for palatino.sty with "RPM provides" we find
that the package containing this file is "texlive-psnfss".
How can we do this search with zypper?
Thanks,
Carlos FL
