Recently I upgraded to SuSE's most recent xFree86 packages. After the upgrade regular users could no longer log in (to an x-session) via kdm. I created a work around by adding all of my users to the root group (home machine) obviously not a good solution. Whats the right method, I'm guessing it has to do w/ permissions but where should I look to find the answer? Thanks again -- dh

Check /etc/opt/kde3/share/config/kdm/kdmrc.
I should have mentioned I'm using kde2.2.2 on suse7.2, I'll look at the corresponding files, thanks for the lead. -- dh
