[SLE] 6.3 Install from HD
I'm trying to install SuSE 6.3 from Hard Drive (FTP would have been nice, but I'm behind a firewall!). I have the PDF Docs to hand and download all the stuff needed for the base system and setup the folders as it explains. Firstly, it tells you do save a file called "inst-img" into the 'setup' folder. This file does not exist in the 6.3 installation, but it does exist in 6.2... "Not to worry", I think, and carry on regardless. I download the pentium image files, and get the i386 ones, too, just incase. I boot into DOS and run 'setup.exe', choose my language, and tell it that my CD-ROM drive is my C: drive. Then I say I want to start Linux from DOS using loadlin, and then I say I want to install from Harddisk and I give it the path (c:\emil which is the example given in the DOCS). When loadlin finally kicks in, it says i386 is not a valid image file and asks for a path to a kernal image.. I tried the Pentium image, and it also says "not an Image file"... So that's where I'm stuck! Anybody offer any solutions?!
