That's a pretty strange thing to happen. Is this happening in Konqueror or at the command line? I've found that with Konqueror if there is a index.html or index.htm file in the folder it will display that instead of displaying a file/folder list. Please check your directory contents if possible and share your results with us. Thanks.
It was index.html All sorted. Thanks
Anybody know why this happens??? I have a few "webpage" folders in my /home directory. Of course they have and index.html file in them. Part of the webpage. Has happened to me several times and is very annoying. I didn't know what was causing it until now. Had to delete the files and copy them back from a CD backup. Because Konqueror is also the web browser and there is some sort of bug?? Bob S.

It's a feature, I think. You can switch it of in the View menu. View->Use Index.html HTH, Jason

Thanks so much Jason. Some "feature" So simple a fix....if you know what is causing it. You can't imagine the hours of wasted time. Thank the Lord for this great list, and thank you personally. Bob S.
