[SLE] pppoe- unknown option: passwordfd
I am building a router to my new adsl using SuSe 7.0. Everything is ok except when it starts the pppd I get the error" pppd[2625]: unrecognized option 'passwordfd' " I have searched the archives and howto's and everything else I can think of. Can anyone give me a clue as to what is generating this error? pppd is generating the error. Do a grep in /etc/ppp for passwordfd I bet you'll find it in one of the files. Nick,
Thanks for the suggestion. Turns out I needed to load pppoed with the "-
C pppoe" option so it will load a file out of /etc/ppp/peers which has a
plugin "passwordfd.so." That seems to resolve the problem.
I guess there are a couple of versions of pppoe in this distribution and the
documentation on the SuSE web site is for 6.3.
Thanks again,
Pan
