There isnt a chance that PHP4 will work with emails.
I have been working on this for more then two weeks, I have tried EVERYTHING. The short story is, scripts written in php cant send mail. The log says that the user (either wwwrun or nobody) doesnt have permisssions to create the file. Then I tried to make that user Trusted in sendmail.cf, then syslogd spits out that the user doesnt have enough permissions to change gid. I know this is a very exhausted topic, but I gotta ask. I tried it on another SuSE box, it worked perfect. I have tried everything I can think of, the last thing I have tried is to delete sendmail and all its dirs and reinstall, no luck there. I tried checking the mail archives for PHP but didnt get lucky. Anyone ? Per Eriksson WCT #1857 webbie@phanatic.net
You are using sendmail? If postfix is pretending to be sendmail it probably won't work right. I had a lot of trouble with that stuff at first. *^*^*^* Have the courage to take your own thoughts seriously, for they will shape you. -- Albert Einstein On Fri, 16 Feb 2001, the webster wrote:

I just downloaded Mozilla 0.8. I think I'll be removing netscape very soon if it keeps being this good. Nick

I agree. 0.7 Was quite slow and crashy (and used tons of RAM) but 0.8 is even better then NS on my box. Still a few small bugs, Preferences wouldn't accept "OK" if I made too many changes at once, and the SidBar editor had a few small fits, but unlike earlier version, it did finally get over it :-)

I've been using a nightly build from earlier this week and there has been a major speed increase in many parts of it lately. It's been fairly stable for quite some time. It replaced Netscape and my mail program for me in September and has been getting better since. *^*^*^* Have the courage to take your own thoughts seriously, for they will shape you. -- Albert Einstein On Fri, 16 Feb 2001, Jonathan Wilson wrote:

Hi All & Nick, who typed, <snip>
I just downloaded Mozilla 0.8. I think I'll be removing netscape very soon if it keeps being this good.
<snip> I've been using 0.7 for a while & I am on Netscape 6.0.1, it is rather good & now my regular. *BFN* Greek Geek :-) "Any excuse will serve a tyrant." -- Aesop
Anyone using the newest Mozilla and the latest Opera 5 ( with the cpu problem fix) care to offer a comparison? I have SuSE 7.0 , Netscape 6.1 ( 4.??) and the latest Opera, and although Opera is not perfect, it surely is impressive and seems much faster than the Netscapes. I'll be keeping Opera ( refgistered it last week) but will download Mozilla if some say it is just as fast. joe
