I saw on the Nvidia site new drivers. There are several for RedHat and Mandrake but none for SuSE. Does SuSE make the drivers for Nvidia or is Nvidia not providing new drivers for SuSE? Yes, version 4191 is out. And yes, there are no SuSE RPMs out there. Of course, that didn't stop me from downloading the SRPMs and installing them. One thing though: the switch2nvidia_glx script does not exist. I had to make the link myself. On Friday 13 December 2002 18:57, Terry Eck wrote:

[snip] Could you tell me how you did that? I've installed the new drivers but I keep getting a message to the effect that 3D is not enabled. -- Rich
Surely. The "thing" to do is to create a symlink from NVidia's library in /usr/lib (whose name is of the format libGL.so.1.0.????) to /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 . i.e., $ cd /usr/lib $ ln -sf libGL.so.1.0.4191 libGL.so.1 $ On Saturday 14 December 2002 02:08, you wrote:

Thank you. That took care of it. On Saturday 14 December 2002 7:41 am, Karol Pietrzak wrote:

I was wondering about the same thing and found this via the link to the nVidia forums at the bottom of the driver page: Andy Mecham l33t master Registered: Jul 2002 Location: Santa Clara, CA Posts: 211 SuSE RPMs will be posted soon. I apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, you can use the SRPM to rebuild a driver for your system. --andy __________________ Andy Mecham NVIDIA Corporation -- JericAtSbcglobalDotNetwork 6:09pm up 23 days, 9:58, 8 users, load average: 0.83, 0.51, 0.37

Nvidia does provide SuSE drivers, they usually show up later. (for the last driver release there were some marked for SuSE and others "United Linux" Aron -- "For a man to truly understand rejection, he must first be ignored by a cat."
